The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
— John 10:10 (NIV)

In order to live to the full this year, we will:

About_Point-One.jpg

Fun is often the first thing to go when life gets hectic because it seems frivolous and extravagant. This year we are going to remember that we can still have fun even when life is hard. We are going to let the laundry wait and build a fort with our kids. We’ll stop waiting until everything on our to-do list is finished until we have fun, and do one thing a month just because it makes us happy. This is our year to remember what it feels like to enjoy ourselves.

About_Point-Two.jpg

No more fearing what people might think or say. No more letting fear paralyze us or concern about the future rob us of the present. At any given moment, there is courage inside of each of us that may be lying dormant. This year we’ll bring it to life. We’ll change our ways of thinking, calm our anxiety, and surrender our need to control. This is the year of faith over fear, and abundance over scarcity.

About_Point-Three.jpg

This year we’ll meet our neighbors, learn the name of the cashier at the grocery store, and invite our MOPS table over for dinner. We need our people, and they need us. Maybe it means asking someone we respect to be our mentor, or perhaps it means marching in a parade, throwing candy and inviting other moms to MOPS. Finding our people takes some vulnerability, but it will also mean being known, belonging, and helping others feel the same. Life to the full happens best with people by our side.

CHILDCARE | MOPS KIDS

GENERAL MOPS KIDS INFO

MOPS kids workers are committed to the importance of providing quality child care for the MOPS program. They may be women, men or teenagers. MOPS kids workers may choose to be paid for their time, or they may choose to serve as volunteers. Classrooms are split based on age, and children enjoy a mix of structured play, a small activity and free play. MOPS kids Childcare will be available for ages 6 months to 6 years.

Moms may start dropping their children off into their age-appropriate MOPS kids classroom no earlier than 8:45AM, and are to pick up promptly at 11AM.

Mom’s can check their children in at the front desk at the Kids Rock area. Each Mom will be given two stickers for their child(ren) and a tag with a 4-digit code for the Mom to present at pick-up. One of the name tags goes on the child’s back and the other tag will be given to the classroom teacher. Should you lose your child’s 4 digit code, please have your ID ready and see your MOPS kids Childcare Lead.

MOPS kids Childcare is only available to your children. If you watch other children/nanny, please DO NOT bring those children with you to MOPS Childcare.

PERSONAL ITEMS TO BRING AND NOT TO BRING

BABIES 6M - 1 YEAR:  Moms may drop off diaper bags with necessities for their child. Please ask and/or make sure all items (bottles, diaper bags, pacifiers) are labeled with the child name to make sure things do not get mixed up. If your child needs to be fed by bottle, please leave instructions for your child’s teacher. We are not allowed to feed any solids, including baby food pouches or puffs.

CHILDREN AGES 1 - 2: Parents may drop off a diaper and wipes in a Ziplock Bag labeled with the child name, please NO DIAPER BAGS - the rooms are not big enough to accommodate a bag for each child.

CHILDREN AGES 3 AND OLDER: NO ITEMS may be brought into the classroom (toys, cups, snacks, blankets, etc.)

ALL CLASSROOMS AGES 2 AND UP: Will be given a snack cup of Gluten-Free Cereal and water.

Absolutely NO TOYS from outside of the classroom are allowed in, this is for safety as well as to lessen the items left behind.

IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS YOU

MOPS kids workers are trained to go through a list of procedures should your child become unsettled during MOPS kids. Such as:

  • Change the child’s diaper

  • Give a snack and/or water

  • Go for a walk in the hallway

  • Set up a structured activity for the child to engage in

However, should the child remain upset, our rule of thumb is 10-15 min of non-stop crying, your MOPPET Lead will have you paged.

With that being said, please continuously be glancing up at the screen on the front stage and/or keep an eye on your cell phone to look for your 4-digit code being paged. If your number appears, please head to your child’s classroom.

If a child is paged for excessive crying and the above techniques were done by your child’s classroom teacher, please do not re-check your child back in for that meeting, you may try again for the next MOPS Meeting.
