Kid(s) & Age(s): Malin, 21 months and a baby boy due at the end of August
Favorite Things about MOPS: Feeling all the barriers come down when you walk into a room is so refreshing. It’s such a special place for vulnerability, honesty and Jesus for women going through one of the hardest seasons of life.
Something you never thought you’d do as a Mom: Tell my child to stop licking the railing in public places.
Best thing about being a Mom: Besides watching my husband become a father; it’s watching a piece of your heart walk around your home, learn, live life, tell you about her day and friends, and then turn to you while she’s in bed, hold out her hand and say “pray”. Melts me every time.
Kid(s) & Age(s): Kaden - 22 Months
Favorite Thing about MOPS: Community and Support
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: Oh there are so many but I always told myself I would NEVER buy pre-made baby foods, etc. and within 1 week of starting solids he was eating from a jar lol
Best thing about being a Mom: The unconditional love and watching them learn, grow and try new things :)
Kid(s) & Age(s): Jackson, 4.5 years old
Favorite Thing about MOPS: I love being in a judgement free place with amazing mamas who love Jesus. It’s great to be able to talk about our struggles and joys in motherhood and feeling loved enough to be real & honest.
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: I never thought I would be so overwhelmed with love for another person, also I know so much about monster trucks.
Best thing about being a Mom: I love so much about being a mama, I’m not sure if there is a best part. I sure do love getting hugs and kisses and being told how much he loves me for no reason at all (as high as the sky, as deep as the ocean & all the way to Florida), watching him grow and learn. Also I love watching him be kind and thoughtful of everything when he doesn’t know he’s being watched.
Events & Outreach
Kids: Ezra (6 months)
Favorite thing about MOPS: I love that MOPS creates a space for women to come together and share life.
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: I definitely didn't think I would wipe my kid's face and then wipe it on my jeans. I do this all the time.
Best thing about being a Mom: Best thing about being a mom is that we are given these little humans to help shape and mold, and we get to watch and help as they grow into who God created them to be. I think it's equal parts terrifying and exhilarating.
Kid(s) & Age(s): Allie - 2
Favorite Thing about MOPS: Everything! Moms crave deep connections with other moms in this season of life. I LOVE that we get to help foster and participate in such a sweet community.
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: I swore that we wouldn't do Disney movies until our daughter was a little older... but now I can quote Moana almost word-for-word.
Best thing about being a Mom: Being a mom is the greatest gift and my heart is so full for so many reasons... I think my answer would vary on any given day! Right now I'm learning to slow down and experience the world through my daughter's eyes. Every flower, animal, dress, and vehicle that we encounter is discussed at length because they are AMAZING. God created us to enjoy His creation and our kids are the very best at it.
Kid(s) & Age(s): Benjamin aka Jeebs (3); Wade aka Tot (9 months)
Favorite Thing about MOPS: Building community at church. And I love that our group caters to working moms, because that struggle is real.
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: Pump while driving
Best thing about being a Mom: Baby & kiddo snuggles and having a front row seat to the wonder that is child development. It's been so fun as Benjamin has grown up to get to hear his thoughts and talk and laugh with him, and now I know what lies ahead with Wade!
Outreach & Events
Kid(s) & Age(s): Benjamin (22 months)
Favorite Thing about MOPS: Being a part of a community of mamas looking to love Jesus and their families better.
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: Use the Nose Frida! Before motherhood: Ummm, what? How many filter stops before the mouthpiece? That’s gross. After motherhood: The gross soul who invented this has a special place in heaven and my home!
Best thing about being a Mom: Being a mom has slowed my life down in a beautiful and refining way, challenging me to boldly prioritize and seek what is most important to my family and the kingdom. And the snuggles, the snuggle is real.
Social Media & Publicity
Kid(s) & Age(s): Beyla is 4, Gavin is 2
Favorite Thing about MOPS: Connecting with other moms who can relate with my struggles and encourage me through them
Something you never thought you'd do as a Mom: There are so many things! The biggest thing is that I used to think I would make sure the kids fit into the lifestyle and rules I thought they should all of the time. I’ve realized I fly by the seat of my pants a lot, and just do my best along the way!
Best thing about being a Mom: Being loved and adored sooooooo much just for being myself. The way my children just want to be near to me and spend time with me no matter what, is just the best feeling.
WHEN THE WORLD SEEMS DARK, WE WILL BE AN EMBER OF HOPE.
